On April/2011 edition of the magazine "Travel and Tourism", was published an article titled "Small manual of safety on the practice of adventure sports." The text teaches the traveler care to avoid major accidents during the activities of adventure tourism and ecotourism.
The first detail that tourists should not worry, the magazine says, is to choose the company offering the activity. In Brazil, companies must follow the guidelines of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT), but few do. You will find below a list of who breaks a rule, separated by state.
Until the determination of the matter, only 63 of the hundreds of companies in the sector met the requirements of ABNT. The denominator among them is the fact of being affiliated to the Brazilian Association of Ecotourism and Adventure Tourism (Abeta).
Contract guarantees the services of these companies unless they follow strict safety standards. Among the companies are certified Estância Mimosa at Bonito (MS) and Recanto Ecológico Rio da Prata at Jardim (MS).
