Work on the Blue Lake Cave, a landmark of Mato Grosso do Sul, will start in the coming weeks, according to Informa Beautiful site. Staircases and toilets will be built. The stairs will have a circular shape and are built with stones from the region, similar to those in the cave.
With an estimated duration of 120 days, the works will not stop the visits. The main objectives of the changes are to ensure greater safety during the trip and allow groups to enter at one end and out another, facilitating the traffic inside the area. Today, there is only one way to enter and exit the cave.
The project was designed by Iphan (Institute of National Historical and Artistic Heritage) in the amount of R$ 321,000, the works were authorized by the Municipality of Bonito in April last year. The work of restoration and conservation is the responsibility of the company Project Tecnologia de Contrução Ltd., winner of the bid.
