The 184th edition of the Revista Mergulho brings a special report about the diving adapted - which turned 20 this year - enabling people with disabilities have the opportunity to experience this.
The text entitled "Overcoming underwater" by Pedro Sibahi, reveals the history of the Portuguese teacher, Divina Célia, who lives in Mato Grosso do Sul and has paralysis on both sides.
She dived once in life and chose the clear waters of Bonito (MS) to realize her dream. That was eight years ago and she revealed to Revista Mergulho it was one of the most remarkable experiences of her life, and the aquatic environment puts people with disabilities on equal basis with others "because everyone needs to overcome the difficulties of movement, communication and the limitation of time to breathe".
